Upload Instructions

Before you upload your design to our system for printing, please read the following instructions to make sure your cards are printed to The Print King's high standard.

The Print King can only accept JPG, TIFF, PDF and EPS files for printing. If you have created your design in Publisher or CorelDraw, please export the design as JPG, TIFF, PDF or EPS.

The colour mode of submitted files should be CMYK (the four colours used in high-quality printing). If you upload files that are RGB etc., they will be converted to CMYK. Converting from RGB to CMYK will cause colours to alter slightly.

Resolution must be at least 300 dots per inch (DPI) at the final output size. For instance a standard sized business card (90mm x 55mm) shoud be 1062 pixels by 649 pixels. Simply scaling-up or increasing the DPI in your imaging software will produce blurry results on your finished print, you will need to create the file at the correct resolution to begin with. A low resolution image will look fine on your computer screen but will produce poor results when printed.

All business card files should measure 90 mm x 55 mm (1062 pixels x 649 pixels) for landscape or 55 mm x 90 mm (649 pixels x 1062 pixels) for portrait. With an all round bleed of 2mm.

'Bleed' refers to image that goes beyond the edge of the card after it is cut to size. This prevents white edges appearing when your card is printed with a colour or image that goes off the edge of the card. Bleed is an extra 2mm (24 pixels) around your design.

When submitting EPS or PDF files to us, you must ensure that any fonts used are 'embedded' in the file or converted to paths.
